Mating animals and fingerprints...

So today was an early morning...got up at 5:30 left the house at 5:45 all to go to Manteca to take my CBEST (so i can be a sub). So get down the hill...aka Sonora and realize that i need gas...I'm feeling pretty good about time so i stop and get breakfast too...of course miky D's is the only thing that is quick enough so i settle for that...I'm at the first window...you know the one you pay at...and the lady in the window says this "goodmorning...(pause)...i think they're mating"!!!!! Who says that!! Now just just let me describe this lady for you...she is old...works at McDonald's...in Tuolumne county! and she has very cray hair and has probably been working all night long. And in that time has seen about a total of 5 people...maybe. So i look at her and its one of those slow looks. I turn my head and she has a very large smile on her face...so i say..." weird" (only she thinks I'm talking about the birds she was referring to and I'm actually talking about her!) So at this point I've basically done the stupidest thing ever...I've given her like a pass to talk to me! Oh great! So she starts on some rampage about mating birds and how you can tell which one is the male because he is prettier. So at this point I'm not even listening...I'm rummaging through my wallet to find money to give to the 24hour working, crazy hair, knows everything about mating birds lady...and finally i got it! I hand her the change and speed 10 feet to the next window grab my food and get out of there! What a weird morning....
So when arrive at the high school in Manteca i get in my seat and since its for the state of CA they have to finger print you, check your id and all that...so okay roll your thumb right to left in the ink and right to left on the paper in the square...not very hard instructions. Especially since i was probably the youngest in the classroom and the rest were adult or super adults. So i look at the clock and I'm thinking " all right...this will take no time and we will be able to start the test in like 15 minutes max!" YEAH RIGHT! An hour later....I didn't know that it was that hard to roll your finger left to right in ink and then put it in a square box that is labeled right fingerprint! And these are the people we are going to allow to be subs! You have got to be kidding me. People were mooshing and smashing and rolling it around. One lady sitting next to me rubbed her thumb in the ink and then rubbed it on the paper. Seriously. Its not that hard. All that to say i was pretty pleased with myself cause the test was fairly easy and i at least knew how to make a clean finger print.
