The last time I posted I was on my way, or so I think, to the Opera. Well...its was beautiful! I was exactly what I pictured my first Opera to look like. We sat high up in the balcony (because we have no money) in this old building which from the outside looks like it's a disaster but on the inside everything is beautiful colours and statues and paintings and lights...you could look for hours! The cieling is painted with beautiful angels and this huge chandelier hangs in the middle. On the side are the box seats and everything is coated in red velvet. (side note: one of the boxes looked like what I would imagine the box that Abraham Lincoln got shot in...which if you know me, this is significant. I took a picture) The stage is huge and the orchestra sits infront where there is probably a couple hundred insrtuments sitting waiting to play their beautiful music. Then the actual opera...interesting. They are so powerful with their voices and their movement is very minimal and elegant. Beautiful and sad story. Itt was wonderful!! I cant wait to share pictures but I know they wont even do it justice.
Anywho...since then we've done some more walking around and shopping. We took the Metro to this flea market outside of the city. Where we were no longer tourists but just people looking to shop. It was huge and like most flea markets filled with a lot of the same things but we had so much fun bartering and finding good deals and things and getting the best strawberries probably in all of the Czeck. Delicious. We also took a tour of the castle and the lesser town of Prague which was wonderful and really tiring.
Today we are relaxing and doing the last couple things we wanted to do in Prague before we leave tomorrow morning. Tonight we'll go to another concert in a beautiful church where they're playing Motzart and some other famous composers that I cant remember right now but i'm excited for it. and probably getting ice cream after. Kati...I'm addicted still. Bri...I know you would love it all. Tomorrow I make my way to Vienna, Austria which i am so excited for!! It will be the first time traveling by myself and I'm a little nervous but it will be fine and I've looked at my maps over and over so we'll just see what happens!!
I'll leave you with this...I think i might be tired of bread. I'm not positive but i might be. And i miss tortillas.
