Some highlights:
the couple I sat next to on the red eye had a bag full of goodies i.e. snacks, whoopee cushions, dart guns. Things of that caliber...I knew we would get along.
My layover wasn't terribly long and I rode the plane with lots of businessmen which made me feel like I was in Men in Black.
I got off the plane and had a welcome club waiting with a sign for me...I'm not sure if that will ever happen to me in life again.
PA is green. Trees everywhere. And humid...which is not my favorite. But so far it's rained in the last two days right after lunch. The first day we got caught in it and ran ran ran for shelter...but the second day we went on the balcony and just listened. One of the ladies that works in the office next to mine likes to sit there and just watch it. I have a feeling we'll make a habit of it.
My apartment is far bigger than I need it to be which is nice but I have unpacked all of my things and it still looks like no one has lived there.
I have already caused a problem and had an email sent about me throwing my boxes in the wrong dumpster...whoops...but I'm not shocked. All normal things.
i drove around trying to find furniture and different things I need yesterday...got lost. Shocking I know. But found my way to Monaca, which is where the target is so that was helpful!
I also may have run about 6 stop signs...I just couldn't see them. Everything is pretty run down so its old. Which I love but means stops signs are randomly placed and this girl from California has broken some laws...but no police yet.
I'm on the hunt to furnish my apartment but in the meantime I get to paint my apartment so that is tomorrow's adventure!
Also you learn to appreciate the small things when you don't have a shower curtain.
Those are the highlights so far. Everything is old a beautiful which is so fun to look at. I keep forgetting that I het things like master keys and access to buildings so that s always fun to be reminded of. And the internet is the worst on campus...maybe not the worst but pretty bad. They're trying to figure out how to get me some in my apartment which could take longer than you think so sorry if the posts are long and infrequent. But now I'm sitting in the office typing and doing business like things. I'm so professional I know. :)
More to come. Here are a couple pictures so far.
My plane ride...The Newark airport is huge and I ran over my own foot while getting to my gate.
My building and boxes...that arrived in not the greatest style but they arrived so I'm thankful.
The rain balcony...you can see the fog from the river down below.
I made cookies last night...making a home requires good homemade cookie smell.
