Today I made a deal. In my opinion I made the best deal. It was denounced a homework day and I said where are we going to do homework? No care in the world so I said can we go to Santa Monica...cause in the four years that i've lived here I still haven't been. Yes was the consensus as long as we spent the first half of the day doing homework...that I could do!
I found myself in a furry of looking for things to do and places to go and things to see and coffee shops to go to. In a cyber world I found myself so overwhelmed with the amount of places I wanted to go and things I wanted to do that suddenly this homework day was becoming more fun then anything, and I knew that if my plan was announced I would find myself in the library, not enjoying the sunshine. So I decided to just stick with the coffee shops for homework and see where the day takes us. And so far the day has been so good to me.
I sit in this coffee shop with a wonderful tasting chai, next to such a good friend to my left and a precious old man on my right who charmingly waltzed his way in and the barista's fell in love with his old man tendencies and cuteness. People come in and out and some are so wrapped up in their world of technology that they don't really know what they ordered or where they are going and others come in with babies in their arms, totally wrapped up in the joy of the day.
As I sit in this new place my studybuddyself is so happy with the sunshine coming through the window to meet my back and be somewhere new with no plans for the day besides to learn about China and write this darn paper. I couldn't have made a better deal. winner.
